THE "FORMAL" BIO

Keith Mondillo has been the head women's basketball coach and Director of Athletics at Gwynedd Mercy University since 1995. In three decades leading the program, he has built one of the most respected programs in NCAA Division III, compiling a career record of 518-274 with seven conference titles, nine NCAA Tournament appearances, and a postseason record of 36-20. His teams have competed in 16 of the last 20 conference championships, and he currently ranks 18th among active Division III coaches in career wins.

His most remarkable stretch came in back-to-back seasons in 2006 and 2007, when the Griffins posted consecutive undefeated regular seasons, finishing 51-7 overall and 36-0 in conference play. That 2006-07 team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, a testament to the culture and standard Mondillo has built at GMU. Multiple Coach of the Year honors reflect what the numbers already show.

Beyond his coaching record, Mondillo has been a consistent contributor to the broader basketball community. He has served on the NCAA Women's Basketball Committee for Division III and has been inducted into both the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and the Montgomery County Coaches Hall of Fame. His reputation is built on developing student-athletes who compete at a high level and leave the program better than they arrived.

MY STORY

My dream was to coach college basketball. Growing up in Philadelphia, basketball wasn't just a sport, it was a religion. I studied the city's coaching legends the way other kids studied baseball cards. I played through high school and college, captained my team at Arcadia University, and knew before I graduated that I was going to spend my life in this game.

Right out of college I jumped straight into coaching, taking on men's basketball assistant duties and a head baseball coaching role at a Division III school. I was in my early twenties, learning on the fly, and completely hooked. What I didn't know then was that one job would turn into a 31-year career that would shape everything I believe about competition, development, and what it actually takes to build something that lasts.

Three decades of coaching and running a Division III athletic department taught me something no playbook covers: the recruiting process is broken for families. Parents are confused, kids are making decisions without real information, and the whole system favors those who already know how it works. That bothered me. So in 2025 I launched KeithMondillo.com to fix it. Not as a recruiting service. As an educational organization that gives families the roadmap, the tools, and the confidence to navigate the college athletic recruiting process on their own terms.

WHY I DO THIS

What I am most proud of about this business has nothing to do with revenue or recognition. As a husband and father myself, I know what it means to want the best for your kid. That is exactly why I show up every day for the families I work with. Because when a parent messages me to say their son or daughter just committed to a school they love, nothing tops that feeling. Knowing I played even a small role in shaping the next chapter of a young athlete's life is more than enough reason to keep going.

I started this business because I watched too many families go through the recruiting process the hard way. Confused, stressed, and making decisions without the right information at the right time. After 31 years on the inside of college athletics, I knew I had something that could genuinely help. Not as a recruiter. As someone who has sat on both sides of the table and wants families to finally feel like they understand the game they are playing.

Working with families is what energizes me. Every athlete has a story. Every parent has a dream for their child. And when I get to help connect those two things to the right college program and the right opportunity, that is what this is all about. If you are in the middle of this process and feeling overwhelmed, I think we might be a great fit to work together.
